Home Assistant MCP Server (official integration)

Built-in Home Assistant integration that exposes your HA instance as an MCP server to clients like Claude Desktop.

01 · What it does

  • Control exposed entities via the Assist API
  • Ask about device states
  • No extra install - built into HA

02 · Install

  1. In Home Assistant: Settings > Devices & services > Add integration > Model Context Protocol Server
  2. Choose exposed entities under Settings > Voice assistants > Expose
  3. Point your client at https://<your-ha>/api/mcp : see the HA docs for auth options
