Victron TCP
Read real-time solar, battery, grid and inverter data from a Victron Energy GX device on your LAN over Modbus TCP or MQTT, no cloud needed
01 · What it does
- System overview: battery SOC, PV power, grid power, AC load and ESS status
- Battery, solar charger, grid, inverter/charger, tank, temperature and EV charger status
- Discover GX devices on the network and generate the config
- Read raw Modbus registers (900+ in the bundled register list)
- 23 prompts for daily and monthly energy reports, storm prep, diagnostics and commissioning
02 · Install
$ claude mcp add-json victron-tcp '{"type":"stdio","command":"npx","args":["-y","victron-tcp"]}'- Read-only for now; write support (ESS mode, setpoints, relays) is on the roadmap
- MQTT is on by default on Venus OS; for Modbus enable Settings > Services > Modbus TCP
- Don't know the GX IP? Ask the agent to find and set up your Victron GX device
- No auth locally (it trusts the LAN). For remote access the same author has victron-vrm-mcp
