WLED MCP Server

Control WLED LED controllers through WLED's JSON API: power, brightness, color, effects, palettes and presets

01 · What it does

  • Turn on/off and set brightness (0-255) and RGB color
  • List and set effects with speed and intensity, list palettes
  • List and activate presets
  • Read device info and state, or send raw JSON state

02 · Install

$ git clone https://github.com/mrkprdo/wled_mcp.git
$ cd wled_mcp
$ pip install -e .
$ export WLED_HOST=192.168.1.100
  1. Replace 192.168.1.100 with your WLED device's IP; every tool also takes an optional host
  2. README recommends backing up your WLED config and presets first, since tools can overwrite them
  3. python examples/test_server.py checks the connection

03 · Client config (from README)
