ShellyLanMan

Discover, monitor and manage Shelly devices on your LAN, with a built-in MCP server for AI assistants. One Docker container, standalone or as a Home Assistant app.

01 · What it does

  • Finds every Shelly on the LAN: Gen1 to Gen4, Pro, and BLU through their gateways
  • Read status, config, 24 h of readings and EM energy history
  • Switch, light, cover, thermostat and scene control in read-and-control mode
  • Schedules, scripts, KVS and webhooks in configure mode; destructive actions need confirm: true
  • MCP is off by default, read-only unless you choose otherwise, with a bearer token on every request

02 · Install

$ docker compose up -d
$ claude mcp add --transport http shellylanman http://<your-host>:3082/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <token>"
  1. Save the README's docker-compose.yml first. Host networking is the default because mDNS discovery needs multicast (Linux only)
  2. Switch MCP on in Settings > MCP. It makes a token (shown once) and gives you the command to paste
  3. Also runs inside Home Assistant as an app

Install steps taken from the project README (its recommended path first). Placeholders are the maintainer's. Not bench-tested by HardwareMCP yet.
